unauthorized users from gaining access to a user’s Ring account, even if they have a user’s username and password.

With every login on a user’s Ring account, a user receives a one -time, six- digit code to verify a user’s login attempt. You will need to enter that code before Ring will allow access to a user’s Ring account. The same goes for any Shared Users that you have on a user’s account. You can choose to receive this one- time passcode via the email address you have listed on a user’s Ring account or on a user’s phone as a text message (SMS). Requiring this code will help ensure that the person trying to log into a user’s account is you. This mandatory second layer of verification will begin rolling out to users today. 24.2.3 Know When Someone Logs Into A User’s Account Knowing when someone logs into a user’s ac count can be helpful in showing suspicious logins. Ring offers login notifications for Ring accounts, which alert you by email anytime someone successfully logs into a user’s account from a new device or browser. Ring will continue to send these login noti fications so you can take immediate steps to protect a user’s account if you are not the one who logged in. 24.2.4 New Tools To Manage Third-Party Service Providers Ring states that it does not sell a user’s personal information to anyone, though they occasiona lly collaborate with third-party service providers that specialize in delivering different benefits, such as identifying and solving a user’s problems faster when you contact Ring Community Support, providing you with personalized Ring offers and discounts , and communicating important alerts about a user’s devices, like when a user’s battery is low. To provide you with even more transparency, privacy and control, here are the first of many steps Ring are taking to help you manage what is shared with third party service providers: 24.2.5 Providing Control Over Third-Party Service Providers: Beginning immediately, Ring are temporarily pausing the use of most third-party analytics services in the Ring apps and Ring website while Ring work on providing users with more abilities to opt out in Control Center 593 . 24.2.6 Opting Out of Personalized Advertising: You can now opt out of sharing a user’s information with third -party service providers for the purpose of receiving personalized ads. If you opt out, Ring will not share the information needed to serve you personalized ads, though you may still see non-personalized Ring ads from time to time. Ring take security and privacy very seriously.
