9. Physical Security

The Organization should formally designate a Security Officer and report annually on the implementation, administration and effectiveness of the Security Program as required by the Bank Protection Act of 1968. At a minimum, the report should include confirmation of the following regarding the written Security Program: ƒ Opening and closing procedures have been established and documented ƒ Appropriate procedures have been implemented assisting in the identification of persons committing crimes against the Organization (i.e. record of robbery, maintaining a camera system to record activity, identification devices such as prerecorded serial-numbered bills or electronic devices) ƒ Initial and periodic training of officers and employees is performed to ensure proper employee conducts during and after a robbery, burglary or larceny ƒ Appropriate procedures have been established regarding the selection, testing, operating and maintaining of security devices (i.e. protection of cash, lighting system illuminating the vault, alarm systems, tamper-resistant locks, other devices determined appropriate)
