Joy Lambert Phillips Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary Hancock Whitney Corporation Joy Lambert Phillips is Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of Hancock Whitney Corporation in Gulfport, MS. As General Counsel, she practices primarily in the field of commercial and banking law and corporate governance; she also serves as part of the Company’s management team. Joy served as the Mississippi Bar President for 2005-2006. She is a former Co-Chair of the Access to Justice Commission, which was appointed by the Mississippi Supreme Court. In 2010, she received the Chief Justice award for her work on the Access to Justice Commission. She also served on the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum Advisory Commission by appointment by the Governor. She is a Fellow of the Mississippi Bar Foundation and Fellow of the American Bar Foundation as well as Mississippi’s State Delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates. Joy is also a member of the American Law Institute and a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Joy is a member and former Chair of the Bank Attorney Committee of Mississippi Bankers Association and past Chair of the American Bankers Association’s General Counsel Committee. Joy received her B.A. and J.D., with honors from the University of Mississippi. She also completed a three-year program at the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University, receiving of a certificate of completion with highest honors.
