Contact your cash supplier to inform him or her of the disaster. Contact your cash supplier (see Appendix to inform him or her of the disaster if there is an effect on the delivery or pickup of cash. Let the supplier know that you will notify him or her when you have either reopened or relocated.) Vault/Night Depository Combinations. This list identifies employees with responsibility for vault and night depository combinations/keys unique to your Branch. See the Vault/Night Deposit/Key List in the Appendix
Post notification of closing. Place a sign on doors and drive-up windows to inform customers that the facility is closing/closed. Note the location of the nearest open branch or banking center.
Inform Human Resources of employee emergencies. Inform the Human Resources Manager of any employee with emergency personal needs. The Human Resources Manager is Jeni Black. If she is unavailable, please contact Anita Jones.
Request assistance for heavy lifting/moving. If help is required for heavy work, contact local movers.
Review ATM Emergency Cash Limits. Review the ATM Cash Limits, Appendix, to determine cash limits set for machines in your area of responsibility. Inform employees of decision to close. Make certain that ALL Branch employees are aware of the decision to close so that they can make any necessary arrangements. Verify shutdown materials are present. Retrieve and inventory materials needed for shutdown. Use the Closing Materials list (see Appendix) as a guide. These supplies must be maintained at the facility. Send someone for any missing supplies IMMEDIATELY. Proceed with Unit shutdown procedures. Emergency Shutdown Procedures should be followed when local Bank Management decides that, in the interest of the Bank and its employees, the Branch should be closed. Use the following list to go through the procedures. Assign shutdown tasks as appropriate. The Branch manager should then sign off on the completion.
These shutdown procedures should be performed only if there is time to do them. If the disaster does not allow time to perform any shutdown procedures, evacuate the building.
Remind Staff of public Announcement Policy. Ensure that all employees are aware of restrictions regarding discussions with the media and customers. The following are guidelines in dealing with the press.
