IT Examiner School

Site Security Inspection Notes During your walk-through of the network room, you observed:

• A keypad on the operations room door. • Neatly bundled and labeled wires. • A sign-in sheet reflecting signatures for those entering and leaving the computer room. • Password-secured computer screens with screen savers activated. • Several portable fire extinguishers and sprinkler heads. • A new thermostat, which was programmed for a constant temperature. The room temperature seemed comfortable and appropriate and there was not apparent evidence of water or fire damage (e.g., discoloration in the floor or walls). During your walkthrough of the institution, you also observed that doors to sensitive areas were locked. Several employees stopped to ask you about your reason for being there and checked your identification. Also, you observed that employees’ computers within the main office were password-secured with screen savers activated and that documents appear to be kept secure (e.g., locked file drawers, folders or documents removed from desk tops).
