Pandemic Planning Two significant repercussions of a pandemic are:

Greatly reduces the number of available personnel to perform tasks, and the potential that the personnel may not be sufficiently trained to maintain operations.

Limitation of direct access to facilities due to quarantine or minimization of contact to prevent spread of illness.

Pandemic Planning- Issues/Actions • Previously noted, Pandemics do not occur regularly, thus a Licensee may not take suitable preparedness steps and/or training • Need for some key Pandemic supplies, e.g., masks • Management needs to be prepared for minimal on-site staff within their Licensee’s Plan • Licensee must have sufficient capacity for off site work to continue regular operations

• Be prepared for a lengthy event, e.g., COVID 19 • An examiner must include a detailed Pandemic review while reviewing the DR/BCP, as these documents will be used during the event
