• The Certification Committee Chair and the appealing individual each select one member . • The third member is jointly selected by the first two. If they cannot agree, the third member is randomly chosen from a pre-approved roster of qualified individuals. • All Appellate Committee members must meet the same certification standards as the level under review. Appeal Process 1. The individual has 30 days to request an Appellate Committee after receiving the second decision. 2. The Appellate Committee reviews written materials from both the individual and the Certification Committee. 3. Within 30 days , the Appellate Committee issues a final, binding decision in writing. Finality of the Decision • The Appellate Committee’s decision cannot be further appealed or overturned by any other body.
• The certification status remains unchanged until the appeal is resolved. • No public notice of adverse action is given until the final decision is made.
Certifications remain valid until the appeal process is complete.
