23.1.2 Amazon Halo Rise Profile PIN You can create a profile PIN to prevent anyone who has access to your shared Alexa devices or Alexa app from being able to query Alexa for your Halo health data. 585  To do so, you can create the PIN using the settings in the Alexa app Settings > Your Profile > PIN > Create and then enable PIN protection for Halo health data through the settings of the Halo app.  To use this PIN, you must either already have an Alexa voice profile or create a new voice profile from the Alexa app under their profile settings.  Once enabled, this feature will require you to verbally provide a four-digit PIN before Alexa will respond to your Halo related questions.  If you wish, you can also enable a five-minute timer for your PIN from the Halo app settings. Once enabled, you can ask Alexa for as much of your Halo data as you like within a five-minute window without having to provide the PIN for each request. Users who are not in physical possession of their smartphone can sign out of their Halo account remotely by deregistering the Halo app from Manage Your Content and Devices on Amazon.com. This prevents anyone else who may have access to their smartphone from viewing their Halo health data. 23.1.3 Halo Health Data Download and Deletion Customers can download all the Halo health data associated with their profile and review it on their own terms. After opening the Halo app, it takes just a few taps for customers to download their data. A link to download the data is delivered to the claim credential that the customer previously used to verify and protect their profile. The link to their raw Halo health data automatically expires after seven days. Similarly, to downloading data, customers can delete all Halo health data associated with their profile from the Halo settings. Deleting this data is a permanent action and it cannot be recovered after it has been deleted. However, if a customer decides they want to stop using Halo and leave no Halo health data behind or if they simply want to reset their data and begin from nothing, this control allows them to make that choice. Once a customer deletes their data in the Halo app, they are automatically logged out of the app and cannot log back in with their profile until all the Halo health data associated with the profile has been deleted. 23.1.4 Amazon Launches New Physical Retail Store Analytics Service Amazon has announced a new physical retail store data-gathering program, called Store Analytics 586 , aiming to monitor customers browsing and purchase habits. Amazon plans to share that information with businesses and brands to help improve offerings and advertisements. Like websites and e-commerce pages collect user data, Amazon is now rolling out a system that will do the same at its physical retail locations. In the United States, the company currently has Amazon Fresh stores and the Amazon Go “ Just Walk Out ” 587 shops. Amazon is giving customers a few ways to bypass checkout lines : they can either scan a QR code within the Amazon app or use Amazon One to scan their palm or insert a card attached to their Amazon account. Otherwise, the rest of the grocery shopping experience is the same as it is elsewhere. Picking up an item from the shelf adds it to your cart, and putting it back removes it.
