Bank Directors Seminar, Coeur d'Alene, ID, September 15-17, 2019

Summary

Loan demand has well exceeded the rate of core deposit growth. As management and the Board work to increase core deposits, the intent is to reduce institutional deposits and FHLB advances by replacing them with core growth. Core deposit growth will have to come first before institutional deposits and FHLB advances can be curtailed. Less emphasis will then be placed on competitiveness in the local CD market. The goal will be to gradually diversify funding sources toward lower costing deposits.
