Basic Controls for Wire Transfers

• Verification procedures for written requests and call-back procedures (or other authentication procedures) for telephone and email requests.

• Security procedures for payment orders (Photo ID, passwords/passcodes, PINs, etc.).

• Written agreements for customers that initiate repetitive wires.

Additional Wire Transfer System Controls

• If applicable: token management procedures—keep tokens in a secured location accessible by authorized personnel only.

• Have an uninterruptible power source for the terminals and VPN device.

• Patch Management and Operating system hardening to limit the probability of exploitation of unknown vulnerabilities.
