Ways to Avoid Sounding Stupid During a Data Center Review, Part 1 • If you ask about a gas fire suppression system, do not refer to it generically as “Halon,” which is a name a lot of people know. While a well-known name, Halon is old and dangerous technology and is no longer allowed in new installations.

• Make sure you understand the distinction between charged pipe and dry pipe sprinklers before you ask about sprinklers in the data center.
