Pandemic Planning- Issues/Actions • Previously noted, Pandemics do not occur regularly, thus a Licensee may not take suitable preparedness steps and/or training • Need for some key Pandemic supplies, e.g., masks • Management needs to be prepared for minimal on-site staff within their Licensee’s Plan • Licensee must have sufficient capacity for off site work to continue regular operations

• Be prepared for a lengthy event, e.g., COVID 19 • An examiner must include a detailed Pandemic review while reviewing the DR/BCP, as these documents will be used during the event

Key Points
The primary goals of disaster recovery and business continuity plans are to:
• Protect personnel and customers. • Minimize damage to resources. • Resume operations as quickly as possible in an orderly, preplanned manner.
Items identified as critical on the disaster recovery plan should be consistent with the BIA and risk assessment.
