• Key tasks in design & develop include: – Begins converting informational, functional, and network requirements into design that programmers can use to script an application. – Design document focuses on how to deliver the required functionality based on business requirements document (BRD). – Development starts when stakeholders agree on design, converting design specifications into an executable program. – Development includes, acquiring and installing system environment, databases, test case procedures, and coding.

• Key tasks in test & implement include: – Testing phase should test to ensure accuracy of programmed code, inclusion of expected functionality, and interoperability with other applications and network components. – Good Project management practices will have test plans & test environment prior to development – Various testing methodologies include acceptance testing, functional, integration, stress testing. – Implementation involves approving, installing or moving test code into production. (Separation of duties is key) .
