Tara Humston Senior Vice President - Supervision and Risk Management Division Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City

Tara Humston is senior vice president in charge of the Supervision and Risk Management Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. She was appointed to this posi�on in 2019. In this role, she is responsible for the supervision of the District’s state member banks and bank holding companies, as well as the Bank’s discount window and risk management func�ons and na�onal responsibili�es for technology ini�a�ves suppor�ng supervision staff in all districts. She is also a member of the Bank’s Man agement Commitee, which is responsible for strategic planning and policy direc�on. Humston joined the Bank in 1998 and most recently has served as vice president responsible for the Tenth Federal Reserve District’s community bank supervision ac�vi�es, leading the Kansas City Fed’s examina�on and inspec�on teams across the District’s seven states. Humston began her career at the Kansas City Fed as an analyst in the Sta�s�cal Services Department and transferred to the Examina�ons and Inspec�ons Department as an assistant examiner in 1999. She was promoted to manager in 2005 and then assistant vice president in 2010 with responsibility for the division’s administra�ve services, informa�on services and surveillance and risk analysis func�ons. In 2016, she was appointed vice president and was named to her most recent posi�on in 2018. From 2015 - 2016, she served as the assistant secretary for the Bank’s Board of Directors. Humston is a na�ve of Topeka, Kansas, and holds a bachelor’s degree in accoun�ng and business administra�on from the University of Kansas.
