12.5.4 Enhanced Clipboard Protection Apps will no longer be able to automatically check what is on a user's clipboard. When a user copies something from one app and pastes it into another, they will always see a pop-up asking them if they want to allow the app to access their clipboard. If a user is manually pasting something, they should grant this permission. However, in the past, malicious apps have tried to automatically harvest everything in a user's clipboard so iOS 16 will now deny these apps permission to paste from a user's clipboard and now you can have more visibility and even uninstall malicious apps should they behave in ways they do not expect. 12.5.5 Hiding Photos The Photos app in iOS 16 allows you easier ways in hiding their pictures. You will now have to enter their passcode or use Face ID or Touch ID to open their Hidden and the Recently Deleted albums in the app. This feature is enabled by default, so you do not have to do anything to start using it. Apple Data Privacy Tools Sign in with your Apple ID at privacy.apple.com to access privacy management tools on your Data and Privacy page. 207 The complete set of self-service tools is available to customers in over 240 countries and regions around the world and includes options to:  Get a copy of the data that you store with Apple that is associated with your Apple ID. 208  Deactivate your Apple ID temporarily. 209  Delete your Apple ID and the data associated with it permanently. 210  Request a correction to your personal data.  Learn about the types of data that Apple collects. Advanced Data Protection With the release of iOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1, Apple is introducing Advanced Protection for iCloud, which uses end-to-end encryption to provide further options for cloud data security. The new security feature ensures you will have the choice to further protect their important iCloud data, including iCloud Backup, Photos, Notes, and more. Apple's use of end-to- end encryption means most a user’s most sensitive iCloud data can only be decrypted on their trusted Apple devices where you are signed in with their Apple ID account, ensuring that their data remains secure even in the case of a data breach in the cloud. So, nobody, to include Apple, can access a user’s data, only the user can. The only major iCloud data categories that are not covered are iCloud Mail, Contacts, and Calendar because of the need to interoperate with the global email, contacts, and calendar systems. Advanced Data Protection for iCloud is an opt-in feature, so a user must enable it themselves using the steps below. You can go one step further and hide their Hidden photos album entirely, though.  Go to Settings > Photos and uncheck Show Hidden Album . A user's hidden photos will still be around, but the album will not be visible in the Photos app.
