Mortgage Fraud: Identifying Red Flags 30 minutes Designed especially for lending personnel, those who receive or give loan applications, and new-hire lenders, this course will educate staff members on how to prevent mortgage fraud through the recognition of red flags. Learners will also be able to identify common mortgage fraud schemes and mechanisms used for fraud.

Assessing Your Mortgage Loan Foreclosure Process 30 minutes This course, recommended for mortgage lenders and other employees involved in the foreclosure process, will explain the importance of self-assessments, examine the six foreclosure management standards identified by the OCC that your financial institutions should include in its self-assessment, and identify some of the key issues involved with third-party vendors. 60 minutes This course, recommended for mortgage lenders, introduces employees to basic principles and terms found in residential mortgage lending. It outlines the initial steps of the mortgage process and provides information on the categories of residential mortgage loans, such as government-insured loans and conventional mortgage loans. It also defines the different types of mortgage loan products and key mortgage documents like mort- gages, deeds of trust, promissory notes, loan applications, and disclosures. Learners will also discover the vari- ous costs associated with purchasing a home and obtaining a residential mortgage loan, as well as how to do necessary calculations and determine amortization amounts. 30 minutes This course, recommended for mortgage lenders and other employees involved in the foreclosure process, is designed to provide you with information on the various foreclosure scams that borrowers facing foreclosure face, and the ways in which you can help them avoid the scam artists who prey on their vulnerabilities. 5 minutes This mini-course provides an overview of the Homeowners Protection Act, including when and how private mortgage insurance (PMI) can be terminated and disclosure requirements. The course is aimed at employees involved in mortgage loan origination or servicing. 45 minutes Upon completion of this course, recommended for mortgage lenders, learners will be able to identify the history and purpose of major laws and regulations which concern residential mortgage lending. Learners will also be able to recognize lender requirements and best practices for providing disclosures and notification to applicants. 40 minutes This interactive course provides an overview of the various laws and regulations that affect the mortgage lending process. The course introduces learners to the Community Reinvestment Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act, Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Flood Disaster Protect Act, and Homeowners Protection Act.
