DEPOSITORY DEEP DIVE

The Depository Deep Dive (fka Iowa Report) is a 40-page deep dive on bank performance trends organized intofive sections. Each section is identified with a colored header so you can identify which it is:

Asset Quality

Capital Adequacy

Earnings

Liquidity

Interest Rate Risk

In many of the visualizations there will be comparisons to state and national medians to points for relative comparison.

Bank = Blue

State median = Navy

All U.S. banks median = Green

Date Filters: - Slider format within the Chapter filter is used to select a date range for all charts using a data range. - Drop-down format is used when only one quarter should be selected. - Check-boxes format is used for ratios based on cumulative year-to-date earnings and lossfigures. The suggestion for these is to select Q4 of prior years and the current quarter.

Data source: Uniform Bank Performance Report data provided by the Federal Financial Institutions Examinations Council’s (FFIEC) Central Data Repository (CDR) which aggregates quarterly Consolidated Reports of Condition and Income (Call Reports) submitted by FDIC insured depository institutions.

At the end of the report there is a Data Definitions section which explains exactly which datapoints are used in each of the visualizations.
