Network Topology: Network Segmentation • Logically and administratively separating similar or related functions or services on a network for improved performance and security. • Normally accomplished by a firewall , router or switch . • While a network switch can connect multiple devices and networks to expand the Local Area Network (LAN), a router will allow you to connect across Wide Area Network (WAN). • Firewall is a network security system that establishes a barrier between a trusted network and an untrusted network. Firewall will monitor and control incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.
